Computers and Classes Coming to P.R.O.S.

A recent conversation with Paul Arlene is giving many of us hope that PROS will be providing internet access and computers for classes, writing, resumes, job searches, and so much more.
Thia is really great news for many PROSumers. It will give us the opportunity to learn how to use a coputer to:
Learn Basic Computer Skills
Resume & Job Searching
Tracking and Paying Bills
Medication Information
Creative Writing Skills
Email and Other Methods of Communication
What are we getting? From what I understand we are getting 3 computers that are connecte to the Ellis Hospital Sever. This means we should have a decent connection. Ellis uses a proxy server that controls what websites and programs we can access. This is done to maintain the safety of the hospitals and your personal information.
So Far the main applications are that found in Microsoft Office 2007 except for OneNote (bummer). So we can spend a lot of time developing skills on those applications. Son't worry if you dont have Microsoft Office on your own computer because you can download and install a free program called Open Office that some feel is better than Microsofts
Computer Class will be starting soon so consider if it is something that you are willing to commit to. This is definately that you will have to write notes and do exercises in order to continue with the class. Notes, and assignments will be posted on the Computer Class Pages so that PROSumers can keep up with everything from the class.
